Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2, 2026

1. Introduction

At SoloTax, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. We believe in collecting only the minimal amount of data necessary to provide you with a functional, accurate tax estimation tool. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your information.

2. Information We Collect

No Mandatory Accounts: Our calculator can be used completely anonymously. You do not need to create an account or provide any personal identifying information (PII) to calculate your estimated taxes.

Voluntary Account Creation: If you choose to create an account to save your calculation history, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password.

Financial Inputs: The income and deduction numbers you enter into the calculator are processed locally in your browser. Unless you are logged in and explicitly choose to save a calculation, these figures are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the SoloTax service.
  • To allow you to securely log in and access your saved calculation history.
  • To respond to your inquiries if you reach out via our Contact Page.

4. Cookies and Advertising Technologies

Functional cookies: We use minimal functional cookies, such as storing your regional preference or your authentication token when you are logged in. These are necessary for the site to operate and are not used for advertising.

Advertising (Google AdSense) — Planned, not yet active: We intend to display ads through Google AdSense in the future. Google AdSense is not currently enabled on SoloTax, and no advertising cookies or similar technologies are set at this time. When AdSense is activated, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies (such as device identifiers, local shared objects, or web beacons) to serve, measure, and report on ads, and, where you have consented, to personalize the ads you see. These technologies may also be used to measure ad performance and to build an audience profile based on your activity on this and other websites.

Consent and your choices: No advertising consent or preference mechanism is implemented on SoloTax at this time. Before AdSense is enabled, we will add an appropriate consent or notice control that meets applicable requirements. Google provides its own controls for personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings, and you can learn more about how Google uses cookies for advertising at Google's Cookies policy. You may also adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies.

We do not claim that SoloTax is fully compliant with any specific advertising or privacy framework, and we have not verified that consent is collected until the relevant consent mechanism is built and active.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures, including modern encryption standards, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
